i've been reading some of your posts, and am wondering are you miguel/chelito?
we parted ways on a sour note because you couldn't talk me into going back to being a jw.
i really enjoyed our chats, you were such a sweetie and, well, always made me feel good (except the jw thing).

So the hospital released him? Last I heard they were wheeling him away on a gurny to have X rays and he didn't look so good!
I figured they hit him where it wouldn't show......
People never cease to amaze me!!!!!
The cruelty they are capable of!
So Sad!

bill bowen has me all confused................. you aren't being talked into settling out of court, are you?.......................
for a policy change that the expert wicked gov body agreed to?
In my opinion( And nobody ever asks for it!)
I have seen Crawdads posts for a Long time! I think his agenda is to destroy the Governing Body of Jehovahs Witnesses! I also think his heart is in the right place in regards to the abuse cases! Money is small compensation for what happened to them.
It's like arresting a small time drug dealer instead of destroying the source that is supplying it!
And Cami...I want to thank you so much for that site...I agree that these people should be compensated...but they rarely get what they sue for! (Amount) And I do not think it should stop there! I hope more will be done regarding the child abuse issue! So many young hearts and minds have been damaged!

I have looked all of the pictures up in the referenced books and literature. I think someone has a great imagination! Only one or two is questionable. The Ram's head had a different meaning at that time. I read about it in another source (Not a JW book) It had nothing to do with religion or worship. I too happen to think it was a disgruntled worker getting his jollies!

ps...For personal reasons, this was my favorite picture in the first post!

besides the scandal of the three missing chapters (especially the blood one) that are in the old book "united in worship of the only true god".
(1983) and are clearly missing from the new book: "worship the only true god.
1. i make a covenant with you for a kingdom.
Verily interesting...Grasshopper!!!!!!!!

(Expecting a copy of book from JW Mother in law any time now!)
i know i just posted a few hours ago- but need to vent.
my mom was at the district convention last weekend.
i had found this site shortly before she went.
I have a similar situation as Jewel. My Mother in law is a devoted JW. Has been for over 50 years.Talking to her is hopeless! It is "In her blood".This is the only way she will ever see her deceased husband again also. She definately needs that religion. It is all she knows now. All the friends she has are JW's.
We go to her farm and help her once a week.(She is 80 and lives alone) It is a 2 hr drive so I usually fall asleep in the back of the van on the way home(I'm pooped!).
Well hubby always calls her to let her know we got home. He told her I fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow! ( I was sick and running a fever but went anyway).Next thing I knew...we were home. Her comment to this was typical..."That's just what it is going to be like for your father (Hubby's ) when he is resurrected."
He was a JW and died about 4 years ago. And she still carries his ashes in a cardboard box in the back of her car!
Then she ties to make him feel gulty about her feeling guilty because we have to go there and help her every week! Boy.....JW's are good at guilt trips aren't they? I think they have to pass that course before they can get baptised!!
CREEPY!.....

i was raised a jw since childhood.
besides the emotional trauma that comes with being an outsider from the rest of the real world, my father was phsically, mentally and verbally abusive to my 2 younger sisters and i. apparently my mother seemd to be so brainwashed with the ideas of respect for headship and all the other bs she didn't do anything about the abuse.needless to say my father was also an elder, sheperding the flock while at home beating his children senseless.
after 20 years of this and all 3 children leaving home by the age of 16,something finally clicked in her head.
You would think that after a while you would get used to these stories! In all my 25 years as a JW I never knew things like this went on!.But they do!.They just hid them from the rest of the congregation.
The only abuse I saw was the beating of the children..They didn't bother to hide it either..Jehovah said "Not to spare the rod!"
Each timeI read a story like this my heart is saddened!
Then I remember what horrors I too was guilty of..One of many was reading the "Paradise Book" to my children at a tender age of 5! And then wonder why they had nightmares!..Do you know they still ( and the neighbor girl) occasionally have nightmares about those pictures in that book!! And they are in their late 30's now!
What a impact many of the JW teachings have on the poor children! They carry that pain with them much longer!
I am so thankful that all of my children left theJW religion..but I can see it has affected them all still to this day!

i think when people leave the organization, they lump it all together- jehovah- religion, organization, etc.
i am not doubtful there is a god, but just doubtful that he used the wts to be his one & only means.
just wanted to say that.
Well from where I stand...I see just as much, if not more, of people bashing each other on these boards...
For some reason that bothers me more!
Many that have left the JW religion have a lot of anger in them.(Still)
Unill they can figure out what to do with this anger...they have to bash someone or something..I don't think they know who they are mad at..God, Man or themselves. I think we should be considerate of this anger..It is part of healing!
And some take longer than others!.
